Learn how you can find safe spaces on clubhouse for black women, report trolls and hide rooms.
Exploring Clubhouse as a black woman can be such an exciting experience!
On the new trendy app, you can find people with similar interests, learn from experts and even have conversations with celebrities.
I love logging into Clubhouse and joining groups where I can ask questions, debate, learn more about spirituality, and the list goes on.
However, as quite a few recent articles have pointed out, the social media app is not the safest place for Black Women and their mental health. If you run across the wrong rooms or groups, you will not have the best experience. I’ve stumbled past several rooms where even after just reading the name and not even going in to listen to the conversation, my energy has shifted into a negative space.
I want Black Women to be able to love and take advantage of Clubhouse and not fear that they will be placed in uncomfortable positions unnecessarily or far too often, compared to other genders and racial groups. I want Black Women to be able to take advantage of the amazing connections and conversations happening on Clubhouse. I want Black Women to take up space on the app, unapologetically.
With that in mind, check out the 6 best Clubhouse groups that Black Women can join to feel safe, build community and enjoy the app, just like everyone else!

What To Do When Your Safe Space Isn’t Safe Anymore
Like all social media platforms, even with all the measures you take to protect your space, sometimes trolls still get through.
Quick Tips
A NEW FEATURE on Clubhouse allows you to hide a room!
If you run across a suggested room on your feed and the title makes you feel uncomfortable or triggers you in anyway, press and hold any area of the rounded rectangle that all the information for the room is contained in and you will get the option to “hide this room.” Once you do this, you won’t see the room anymore, washing away its potential negativity out of your feed!
Another NEW FEATURE on Clubhouse allows you to report a troll.
If you are in a room and someone onstage is sharing hateful speech or is trolling others, you can easily report them by clicking their profile image. Once you click on their profile image, you will see the option to “Report for trolling” near the bottom of the screen.
