Self-care is what caring for yourself means to you.
It takes a lot of courage to take control of your life and try to figure out how to be happy. How to put yourself first. How to actively love yourself and care for your own wellbeing.
Give yourself credit.
Don’t let anyone tell you that self care isn’t a spa day on the weekends or heading to Marshalls on your day off to smell candles for 3 hours or dancing in your room alone like you did as a pre-teen or feeling inspired by your horoscope.
Yes therapy helps (I’m lucky enough to attend therapy bi-weekly) but it’s not always affordable and it doesn’t always work out.
Don’t let anyone devalue and steal your moments of peace.
