Whether you know it as Shower Routine TikTok, Hygiene TikTok, Shower TikTok or ShowerTok, the trend has taken the product junkie world by storm. 

Growing up, I was always obsessed with body products and would spend a fortune at Bath & Body Works whenever I went to my local mall. I remember my mom getting frustrated with me because I would purchase 12 body creams at once, alongside 5 body sprays. Sorry, I just could not choose between Warm Vanilla Sugar, Sea Island Cotton and Sweet Pea, so I purchased them all! 

Insert ShowerTok, over a decade later and I’ve finally found my tribe!

My first ever Bath & Body Works product was a Christmas gift from my friend’s mom, Japanese Cherry Blossom Body Spray. It was my holy grail at the time. 

Nowadays, I love the Aromatherapy line from the same brand. I always get compliments from others when I use the lotion paired with my favorite perfume, Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh.

My top two lines from Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Collection are Love: Rose + Vanilla and Stress Relief: Eucalyptus + Spearmint. They just work so well with my body chemistry and pair well with my favorite perfume, Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau So Fresh. I’m always exploring their new products and one of the best newest scents is Stargazing Meditation, “made with Bergamot, Patchouli & Vetiver to inspire mindfulness and relaxation.”

1. Dyana Montaque, better known as @eunoiaglow on TikTok, is hands down my favorite shower routine creator. I love her mountain of Tree Hut sugar scrubs, how she organizes her Etsy soap bars and her bathroom adds a spa-like touch. 
2. @yonyonp0ppin’s nighttime shower routines is what attracted me to her page. She inspired me to purchase HoneyPot’s sensitive feminine wash.  
3. @selfcaresundayx is a creator who inspires the girly girl in me! Her pink aesthetic is such a vibe and she reminds me to go the extra mile and take care of myself everyday.

TikTok Shower Routine Step By Step Guide + Organization

In order to abide by the stringent guidelines (just kidding!) of Shower Routine TikTok, here is a list of staple items you can use. These are just suggestions, but you can add and remove items as you please. Some people have sensitive skin and others are allergic to perfume. I like to think of self-care as your own recipe, so do what’s best for you. And try out new items to see how you feel.

How To Smell Good All Day with Scent Matching 

A great TikTok hack that I’ve implemented in the last year and taught me to smell good all day is: Scent Matching! 

Scent matching = creating a shower routine centered around a certain scent. For example, if I want to smell like I’m on a tropical vacation, I would use a bar soap, scrub, body wash, body butter and spray that all smell like coconuts (or even mangos). You can do this with most scents including vanilla, lavender and rose. The scent will stay with you throughout the day because you’re not making your scents compete with the various body products you use. They’re all going to have the same or similar notes! 

It’s a fantastic method to actually use all of the products I own before they expire (lol!) and it works! Scent matching really took shower routines to the next level for me. Now, I always scent match my bar soap, scrub, wash and body lotion/butter. 

Shower routine TikTok has also helped me develop a much needed nighttime routine. I’ve transformed my twice daily regular hygiene routine into a full fledged self-care experience.
